Genetics Australia along with the event sponsors are pleased to announce that the event is able to offer a number of “Travel Assistance Package’s” in order to assist with travel costs to attend the National Women in Dairy Forum to be held on 24th March 2010. An application Form for “Travel Assistance Package” along with a “Forum Registration Form” can be found by downloading from this page and should be returned to Genetics Australia.

Leading livestock breeding organisation Genetics Australia Co-operative has announced a National Women in Dairy Forum to be held on March 24th in Melbourne next year. The Forum will be held at the RACV Club in Melbourne and will attract delegates from all States in Australia.

Chief Executive Dr. Ray Johnson said “This National Forum builds on two other Women in Dairy meetings that we have held over the last two years. Once again it will be a great event for all dairy women to both learn and contribute to women’s leadership role in the industry and also to have a bit of fun and do some networking”.

“Our objective is to engage women from the dairy industry to develop for themselves a road map for a national women in dairy leadership plan”, he said.

“Forum participants will be motivated by inspiring speakers, including international scientist Dr. Sally Shortall, a leading social researcher from Dublin University in Ireland”, he said.

“ In addition we have a number of Inspiring women leaders who will talk about their key lessons in leadership, including Karen Baum, dairy industry consultant,  Danielle Auldist, CEO GippsDairy, Professor Margaret Alston, Professor of Social Work at Monash University, Jacqui Biddulph, a Board director of Challenge Dairy in Western Australia, and outstanding Victorian dairy farmer Sarah Crooke ”, he said

“The Forum, which will be facilitated by well-known rural consultant Cathy McGowan, will be a unique opportunity to connect with industry leaders, to have input into a national women in dairy leadership plan, meet (inspiring) women from all dairying areas of Australia, learn about the issues facing the future of the industry in Australia and overseas and share ideas with dairying women from all over the country” he said.

“And finally it will be a day to be entertained like never before, with outstanding motivational speaker Robyn Moore on the program after lunch”, he said.

“The objective of the meeting, which is funded by Genetics Australia Cooperative and from the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry under its Australia’s Farming Future initiative, is to assist in the development of leadership skills amongst the huge number of talented dairy women in Australia”, he said.
